Los orígenes del Museo Arqueológico Municipal de Jerez se remontan a mediados del siglo XVIII. Un largo recorrido, no exento de altibajos, en el que cada nueva etapa ha contado con un breve inventario o guía que facilitaba el acceso a la colección.
Faltaba una guía-catálogo actualizada de la última ampliación inaugurada en noviembre de 2012, con la que el museo ha alcanzado la considerable extensión de 3500 metros cuadrados de superficie. Un museo con un discurso expositivo totalmente renovado que nos conduce a lo largo de la historia de Jerez a través de sus restos materiales.
Editada gracias a la Asociación de Amigos del Museo, esta guía bilingüe (español/inglçes) resulta de gran utilidad en el recorrido por sus salas y constituye asimismo un poderoso instrumento de proyección hacia el exterior de esta magnífica institución con la que cuenta la ciudad de Jerez. ¡ Viva el museo y sus arqueólogos !
